Blessings

Laura Story wrote Chris Tomlin's "Indescribable." Her newest album is out and this song, Blessings, is the newest from that album. LOVE IT!

You can listen to Laura's testimony on how she came to write this song (http://youtube/Nz9irePc-iI). It's a powerful testimony of trusting God and taking him at his Word even when the blessings He gives aren't what we WANT.

Several people come to mind when listening to this song but my friends, Drew and Tammy, dominate my thoughts. In 2009 Drew was diagnosed with a rare cancer in the upper small intestine. He has been in and out of the hospital lately and my heart is so heavy for that family! I am able to keep up with the details through their blog (which I am so thankful for, Tammy) and I am so encouraged by her trust and hope in God. We serve a God that is SO much bigger than cancer and he could certainly heal Drew with a word. But as the song says, "When darkness seems to win, we know that pain reminds this heart that this is not our home."

Boling family, you are in my prayers!

Happy Easter

"Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, 'Do not fear, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.'" Matthew 28:1-7

Easter baskets. Egg hunts. Family get-togethers. New clothes. We went on an egg hunt, had great food with friends, and I even got a new dress! But the real reason we celebrate is in remembrance of our Savior's resurrection from the grave. He is not dead! He has risen!

We started the morning with a pancake breakfast at church then worshipped with our church family. What a sweet time! After church we had an easter egg hunt for the kids. Brandon was a little confused on what was going on but once he figured it out he had a great time!
Here are some pictures from our day...

I am looking forward to carrying on Easter traditions with the boys but I want them to know the real reason we celebrate! It's not about the Easter bunny and new shoes! It's all about Jesus!

Boys will be Boys

Today was a BEAUTIFUL day outside so we took advantage of it...ALL DAY!! I just put the boys to bed and they both rolled right over and went to sleep. There is usually a few minutes of "talking" and giggling. Not tonight.

We started our morning at the YMCA...of course, I had to get my Zumba in! =) Brandon played outside the whole time. When I went to pick him up he was pink faced and still FULL OF ENERGY! We ran a few errands and went home for lunch and naps (the boys, not me...unfortunately).

When they woke up from their naps we went and met some friends at the park. What a great afternoon!

Brandon wasn't a fan of this arrangement =)

The three amigos...Brandon, Emmerson, Boone

Chillin' with Carson while the "big boys" played

Back home...boys will be boys

We spent the evening at Nathan's softball game...notice in these two pictures Carson is CHEESIN' IT UP!! Apparently Brandon didn't get the memo.

Playing ball with Laurel at Nathan's game

Carson hanging out with his lady friends, Carolyn and Laurel

What a great day! They LOVE being outside!

Healer

Ephesians 3:17-21, "So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith - that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."

Christ. He is able to do FAR MORE than we can ask or imagine.

Jesus is all we need regardless of the healing we are searching for (physical, emotional, spiritual)...nothing is impossible with him!

I listened to this song over and over and over and over (ok, you get my point) today as I read. God is SO much more than good!! He is the GREAT PHYSICIAN...healer of our physical bodies but the healer and restorer of our lives.

Here are the lyrics:

You hold my every moment
You calm my raging sea
You walk with me through fire
and heal all my disease

I trust in You
I trust in You

I believe You're my healer
I believe You are all I need
I believe
I believe You're my portion
I believe You're more than enough for me
Jesus, You're all I need.

Nothing is impossible for You
Nothing is impossible
Nothing is impossible for You
You hold my world in Your hands
Nothing is impossible for You
Nothing is impossible
Nothing is impossible for You
You hold my world in Your hands

I believe You're my healer
I believe You are all I need
Oh yes You are, yes You are
I believe You're my portion
Lord, I believe You're more than enough for me
Jesus You're all I need
More than enough for me
Jesus You're all I need
You're my healer

Lately...

I started planning Brandon's 2nd birthday party today which is CRAZY...and then a month later Carson turns 1!! Time is going by WAY TOO FAST!!! Even though things can get crazy busy around here, I am loving this time with my babies! They are my little blessings and I can't imagine life without them!

We have been pretty busy with apartment events, traveling, and LIFE, but here are a few pictures that I have taken over the past couple weeks.

Brandon has always liked yogurt but now that he can eat it by himself he LOVES it!

My little man at O'Charleys.

Like Father Like Son

Brandon's hair is BUCK WILD!! It is so thick, he has tons of it, and it is out of control!!! He gets it cut and two weeks later I am stressing out because I can't get it to lay down or do anything. So, today was the day. Nathan got his trimmers out and Brandon's hair is GONE!

Nathan says that he had hair like Brandon when he was little...that's hard to believe, huh?! =)

Brandon loves his Daddy. I know he loves me too but he LOVES his Daddy! I think he likes looking like his hero! =)

"I feel fear"

Ever since Carson was a bitty baby I could vacuum and it never phased him. In fact, if he was fussy and I started vacuuming, it would calm him down. Well, that has changed in the past couple weeks...he is TERRIFIED of the vacuum cleaner! Bless his heart!!

So, I am nice...only because he is my kid...hahahaha and I only get it out when he is in his swing or exersaucer. If he is in the floor he freezes and can't crawl, scoot, or anything. Again, bless him!

After cleaning today I left it out for him to explore. I didn't think he would go over there but he finally did...he sat there about 30 seconds before crawling away. hahahahaha that's ok. Pretty soon he will be like Brandon...running behind me wanting to help.

Happy Anniversary!!

Tuesday, April 5th, was our anniversary!! We asked our friend, Carolyn, to watch the boys while we went to dinner. I haven't had sushi (well, besides Publix) since we moved here so when Nathan said I could pick the restaurant I started looking for local places to get sushi. Thanks to a facebook friend from college, we ended up at PM (www.pmnashville.com). It's near Belmont University which is a really cool part of town.

Carolyn was SO KIND as to take pictures while she kept the boys. I loved seeing what they did while we were gone...thanks, Carolyn!!

Apparently Brandon got into EVERYTHING that Carolyn brought!! =)

Thanks for dinner, Nathan! I love you!
