UT vs Bama

Nathan is from Alabama...I am from Tennessee. This makes the third Saturday in October a holiday! =) Unfortunately, I don't really have any reason to cheer but it makes for a fun day of football.

We have made a deal. If Tennessee wins then the next year I can dress the boys in UT gear. If Alabama wins then I have to dress the boys in ugly clothes - I mean, Bama gear. Well, since Alabama won last year I had to dress them accordingly.

(Carson had on a sweatshirt but it didn't last long and he wouldn't stay still for a picture.)

I was SO excited at halftime when it was 6-6 but my joy was quickly zapped in the second half.

I am convinced that Tennessee will be able to beat Bama in a couple years. The boys will be wearing orange and white on the third Saturday in October before long.

Sneak Peek

This past Saturday was family photo day!

A friend of mine from high school has recently started her own photography business so we were able to reconnect and get amazing pictures.

Here are a few from the shoot...

Thanks, Kristen!

Amazed

This song came on the radio on the way to church this morning. I love this song but I had no idea how it would play in my head throughout the morning.

Nathan preached. I have heard him preach/teach countless times but this morning I found myself especially grateful for the godly man I have been blessed with. He preached with boldness and conviction. Nathan and I were friends for a couple years before dating and even during that time I called him my evidence of grace. He has always been such an example of God's love for me. I am extremely grateful for his leadership in our family and his love for God's people and the Word.

Lord, I'm amazed by You, how You love me!!

Happy Birthday to Meeeeee

My birthday was Wednesday. My day was pretty normal except for dinner at Chili's - MY FAVE!! I started the day with Zumba, then went to a mom's group that I have recently started going to, then went to church that night.

BUT TODAY I got to use Nathan's birthday present to me. He gave me a FREE DAY! He said he would watch the boys so I could meet some Louisville friends in Bowling Green for the day. Awesome!! He is so precious! So, a few of my friends from Louisville drove to Bowling Green and I drove from Nashville and we had so much fun!

We met at Olive Garden for lunch which was delicious!

Then we decided we would go somewhere that we couldn't go with kids. I mean, we COULD go with kids but it's much more enjoyable without them...the BIGGEST FLEA MARKET IN KENTUCKY just happens to be in Bowling Green. So, that's what we did. We saw some of the most random stuff but we got a few good buys and had a great time.

We ended our day at Starbucks. We were able to sit, drink coffee, and chat for two hours. WHAT?! Yes, it was amazing!

Thanks, Nathan, for being so thoughtful! What a great birthday present! I love you!!!

I got home in time for dinner and sorted through some clothes that Kellee gave me for the boys. Thanks again, Kellee!! Then, it was bathtime for the boys. They love bathtime!!!

What a fun day!

Long Overdue

OH MY!!! I was long overdue for a new do!
I got a haircut shortly after we moved to Nashville A YEAR AGO! Yeah, one haircut in a year...not a trim or anything. Not ok. So, Friday Tiffany cut and colored my hair. Ahhhhhh thank you Tiffany!!

We are trying to let Brandon's hair grow out but Carson was in desperate need of a cut too!

The boys love going to Tiffany's to play! The boys get along so well and it's so fun to watch them play together. So, not only did we get haircuts but we had fun hanging out with the Hollis crew.

Thanks again, Tiffany!!

I Love You, Jesus AMEN

Yesterday we were driving home from the park and Brandon said he wanted to sing. So, I did the norm...ABC's, Jesus Loves Me, random Wiggles songs, etc. Brandon said, "Sing I Love You, Jesus Amen." Huh??? LOL That is the closing to all our prayers but I don't know the song!! Well, that's what he wanted to sing so I had to make something up.

This is what I came up with...he loves singing this song and it's so stinkin' cute!

AAAALLLL Better!

I haven't posted for a couple weeks not because there hasn't been anything to post but because things have been crazy busy!!

Things were slowed down this week when Brandon got sick and I was able to sit down and load pictures. He woke up Monday night/Tuesday morning...it was like 1:00am...throwing up. Ok, if you know me then you know I HATE THROW UP! Ewwwww! I heard him crying and I got up to go tuck him back in. When I got to his door I could tell by the series of cries and GAGS that it was more than just a mid-night wake up. Gross. So, I did what any mother would do and I told Nate he had to come help me. hahahahaha! He is so sweet!!! He tended to Brandon as he finished his episode (so gross) and I stood in the hall asking if he was ok. LOL I need to get better about that.

He finally fell back asleep and everyone got a few more hours of sleep. When I got Brandon out of bed the next morning I was so nervous he was going to vomit everywhere. I got lucky. He didn't vomit and he told me he felt better. He said, "My nummy hurt and it came out my mouth but it's aalll better!" My response, "Oh, I am so glad!!" He had no idea how glad I really was!!! =)

I gave him water and applesauce for breakfast just to make sure his little tummy was ok. He acted normal most of the morning but we stayed home from our normal routine so I could watch him and I didn't know if he was contagious. He watched his movie (he loves the movie, "Enchanted") and chilled out for a little while. But it wasn't long before he and Carson were wrestling...boys will be boys!

We stayed home through naptime and at 4:00 that afternoon I decided to take them to the park. They love the park and it was nice to be out of the house for a little while.

I am glad my baby boy is aaaaallll better!
