Ear Infection & Breathing Treatments

I had to take Brandon to the pediatrician today. He had an ear infection a couple weeks ago and finished all the medicine from that...he was doing good for a couple days then the symptoms started coming back. He developed a cough that sounded awful, he wasn't eating normal, he wasn't sleeping through the night and naps were questionable, he was fussy/needy/irritable/etc. Late this morning he started wheezing so I took him to his doctor.

He has an ear infection in the other ear. She gave me a stronger dose of meds to give him and if he isn't at 100% when that is finished then I am supposed to take him back in. The worst part is that she listened to his breathing and noticed the wheezing. She tested his oxygen levels and sent us home with the equipment for breathing treatments. She gave him one treatment in office and I am to give him treatments at home every four hours. It's PITIFUL!!!

Hopefully he will be back to normal by the weekend!

IT'S A BOY!!!

This morning we went to the doctor to find out that Baby Moore #2 is a BOY!!! Woo hoo!!! Honestly, as long as he/she is healthy, I don't really care...BUT...I have all the stuff for a boy and since he will be born in the same season as Brandon, it will be WAY practical when it comes to clothing.

We haven't decided on a name but that will come soon I am sure.

Everything on the ultrasound looked GREAT!!! Unfortunately, he was turned around so we weren't able to get a good face shot otherwise I would post it on here. He did a flip for us which allowed us to see that he is DEFINITELY a boy! =)

I am sure that Brandon is excited about having a little brother 13 1/2 months younger than him - he just doesn't know it yet!!! Nathan will have so much fun with his boys and I am SO excited about taking care of another little man!

I'm Goin to Jackson

Last Thursday Brandon and I took a quick road trip to Jackson to see family. Nathan had to work all weekend so it was a good reason to get away for a couple days to see family. We stopped in Hendersonville on the way there to meet up with Tiffany and her kiddos. Since it stormed the whole way it was nice having a little carpool line to make sure we all made it safely.

We got there around dinner time on Thursday...the menu - sushi and pizza. It's a Wright family tradition and it's YUMMY!!! I am pretty sure I ate WAY too much sushi but it was well worth it.

Friday afternoon Mimi and Daddy Bill came over to see all the great-grandbabies. They brought some stuff for dinner and we ended up with a buffet of yumminess! =) Tennessee basketball was on Friday night so, of course, we made that the high point of the evening...AND THEY WON!!!

Saturday morning I used Daddy's car cleaning stuff (thanks, Daddy) to vaccum out and clean my car. I put Brandon in a pack-n-play outside and he did great for the majority of the time...I had to bribe him with snacks the last few minutes. =) We headed back to Louisville after lunch. Like I said, it was a quick trip but it was so good to see family.

Here are a few pictures...

Brandon and Pa (my dad) watching the UT game...GO VOLS!!!

Sunniee reading to Brandon...he loves books!!!

Hopefully we can go back again soon and stay for a few more days.

All About Kids

This past Monday Brandon and I met some friends at All About Kids to play for a couple hours. Mona and her boys, Gannon and Lincoln, were there along with Sally and her little girl, Laine. Mona and her family live in Arkansas so she was in town for a visit. It was good to get to see her and her precious baby boys.

Shower #1 for Baby #2

This past weekend I was blessed to have a shower for baby Moore #2. We find out the gender next Wednesday (the 31st) and I am SO excited!!! I sing on a praise team at church and the ladies were very sweet and thoughtful in having a shower for our new precious baby!!

There are two other girls that I sing with that are pregnant too so we had a combined shower. One of them is due in April so we went ahead and had the shower while all three of us were available. It was so much fun and I am so blessed to serve with such amazing women!

The dessert table...SO YUMMY!! My cookie is the one in the middle of the tray on the right. It is painted half pink and half blue - so cute! =)

Some of the ladies at the shower...thanks, y'all!!!

The three preggos (me, Kim, Ashley) with our baskets of baby goodies!!!

I also got several packs of diapers which is AWESOME!! They will definitely be used!

As I opened all the stuff for our new little one I got so excited about meeting him/her. I am only halfway through the pregnancy but I know that it will be here before I know it. Thank y'all so much for the kindness you have shown to me. You're the BEST!!!

Paint Spot...cont'd

Here is a picture of the painting I did last week...I get to pick up the finished product tomorrow but here is what it looked like when I left it. It's a picture frame with the verse that we chose for Brandon before he was born.

Madison, Indiana

Nathan was off work Friday and it was 70degrees and sunny...a GORGEOUS day!! Nathan planned a little outing for us and it was a blast. We went to Madison, IN which is about an hour from Louisville. It's an old town that is located on the Ohio River that has lots of antique shopping and local dining. We ate lunch at "The Downtowner" which was a cute little restaurant located in the middle of downtown (hence, the name...hahaha). We walked down to the riverfront and walked for a while. It was a beautiful day, Brandon was VERY well-behaved and it was so nice to enjoy the day without any distractions. Before leaving Madison we stopped at an ice cream shop and got a treat. Brandon loved his Daddy's raspberry slushie...even more than my cookie dough ice cream!

Since I don't have my camera working right now, here are some pictures off of the city's website...www.visitmadison.org

Located about five or ten miles from Madison is Clifty Falls State Park. We drove around the park for a while because Brandon fell asleep but we eventually got out and walked down to see the falls.

Again, these were taken from the website. I will post my pictures later...

We had a great day but we were all exhausted when we got home!!! Thanks, Nathan, for planning a fun family day. We love you!!!

Paint Spot

I am still working on camera issues so I will have to post the next few blogs without photos BUT as soon as I can get the pictures off my camera I will post them.

This past Thursday, I met some ladies from church at the Paint Spot to paint pottery! Ok, you can laugh and say what my sister said, "What are you going to do next month...knit?!" hardy har har. If you have never been and painted pottery, it is SO much fun.

When I was pregnant with Brandon, Nathan and I picked out a verse for him. Psalm 119:9, "How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to Your word." I wanted to have something painted when I was pregnant but never got around to it. So, I took the opportunity to paint his verse on a picture frame. It's really cute...I will post a picture as soon as I can get it off my camera.

Thanks, Stephanie, for planning our little outing. It was SO much fun!!!

Tiffany's Birthday Photos

I wrote a few days ago about us going to Hendersonville to celebrate my sister, Tiffany's, birthday. My parents drove over from Jackson and my brother came from Chattanooga. It was a great time with family!!! Here are the pictures from that weekend...

Nine Months Old

Brandon weighed 19 lbs 3 oz at his six month check-up. He went for his nine month today and weighs 22 lbs 9 oz. He hasn't grown much in length so he is at 75th percentile in weight and still at 95-100 in length (30 inches). His blood work and exam were great but his shots were TERRIBLE...the worst yet for sure. He cried for a few minutes, then stopped, remembered what happened, cried some more...on and on for about ten minutes. He came home and took a great nap!

Before his shots...such a happy little man

This picture was taken before he had his finger pricked for blood work. This was definitely the most entertaining part of my day! Well, not the fact that he got his finger pricked but how he reacted to the band-aid that was put on his finger. Oh dear!!! From when he got the blood drawn until he fell asleep at naptime, he was AMAZED by the band-aid. He talked to it, tried to shake it off, kept using that hand to do everything so he could see it in action I guess. The funny think about that is that the "boo boo" was on his left hand...he does everything with his right hand. All of a sudden he was left handed and loving it! =) After naptime I decided it was time for the band-aid to come off. It was a good laugh while it lasted though!!!

He has slept better the last couple nights (knock on wood). The pediatrician said he probably is just going through a growth spurt. We might be on the downhill side of it now (cross my fingers).

Brandon is eating more table foods. I still feed him stage 3 veggies (baby food) just to make sure he gets enough of those but he does great with hot dogs, deli meat, grilled chicken, french fries (HE LOVES FRENCH FRIES), and most fruits. He is a good little eater and I am so thankful for that! Hopefully it will continue for a while.

I had to dig his 18-month clothes out today...sad, but true. He can still wear a lot of his 12-month pants but a lot of his shirts are too short. It's crazy to think that my nine month old son is wearing 18-month clothes but that's ok...he is a growing, healthy boy!!!

He is continuing to crawl and pull up on EVERYTHING. He is starting to walk along the couch, chairs, or whatever he is pulled up on. It won't be long before he tries to let go and take off.

Brandon is precious and we are so BLESSED to have such a sweet baby boy! One of the things I love doing with him is reading books. He loves it!!! He has gotten to where he will get a book out of his toy box and either lay it on the floor and crawl to me...that means, "Go get that book and read it to me"...or he will scoot it over to me. It is the sweetest thing!!! I hope he will let me read to him for MANY more years!

Growth Spurt?

I think Brandon has hit a growth spurt. Ok, I am HOPING Brandon has hit a growth spurt! =) The past week or so has been rough. Brandon has been going to bed at his normal time but has been waking up multiple times throughout the night. One of those nights Nathan fed him because he woke up screaming. He ate a bottle in five minutes which gave me reason to adjust his feeding schedule the next day!!

He has been eating LOTS more during the day and is less interested in his bottle. He wants FOOD! =) Since readjusting his feeding times he hasn't woken up screaming (thank goodness) but he still wakes up multiple times. He has been sleeping through the night since he was eight weeks old...at almost nine months it has been way too long since I had to get up at night.

Speaking of...he just woke up...ROUND ONE!

Meg

LifeGroup

Nathan is teaching a LifeGroup (topical small group) at church on Sunday nights. Tonight was our first meeting and I am definitely the luckiest girl in the world! =) As a group we are reading "30 Days to Understanding the Bible." Ok, is that REALLY possible??? That was my overly sarcastic thinking when he told me he had been asked to lead the study. I was a bit cynical and not very encouraging (sorry, Nathan).

My purpose for attending the group tonight was just to be there in case a room full of somen showed up...atleast then it wouldn't be AS awkward/uncomfortable for him. Since we weren't sure how many had signed up for the study we had NO IDEA what to expect.

I dropped Brandon off at his childcare class before going to where our class was meeting. I was BLOWN AWAY when I saw twenty people ready to hear how to better understand God's Word. Nathan did a GREAT job leading (which did not shock me at all) and there was lots of response. I left the group ready to start reading the book and looking forward to discussion next week. My heart was changed and I am excited about the next six weeks!

I am so proud of Nathan and his leadership! He is so passionate about the Word and he is just as passionate about teaching it...how encouraging that is to me!

Spring is Almost Here!

Spring is almost here and I am so excited!!! Yesterday, Brandon and I were able to go for a walk! This winter we have done lots of walking at the mall so it was nice to walk outside. Brandon loves walks but he loves being outside even more.

I can't wait until this spring when I can take him to the zoo. I am pretty sure he will LOVE it!

Update on Baby #2

I went to the doctor yesterday and everything looks great! At this point it's just listening to the heartbeat but the doctor also let me know that all blood work has come back normal. Yay!!! We find out gender on March 31st! Any bets on what baby Moore #2 is?? =)

At this point in the pregnancy with Brandon (17 weeks), I was already starting to swell as a result of high blood pressure. At 20 weeks I was put on bedrest. Yesterday, my blood pressure was PERFECT!! Woo hoo!!! He said he sees a lot of women that have bp with their first pregnancy and then never have issues with it again. Hopefully I can be so lucky! If not, that's ok! God will be faithful to get us through it just as He was with Brandon.
