As I listen to this song I think about people in my life...
A friend whose mom has stage 3 breast cancer...this friend lost her dad to brain cancer a couple years ago and her grandmother passed away this past year.
A friend who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
A sweet friend and her husband who are seeking the Lord's will in a ministry move. They are struggling with direction and clarity.
A new friend (and HUGE blessing) that has just been diagnosed with breast cancer.
People in my life who are discontent with life. People and circumstances fail them BUT...God is unfailing!!!

"Mama Clean"
Today was a very interesting day!!!
It started with Zumba at 8:30 this morning.
I knew there was a storm coming so I ran errands when we left the Y.
When we got home, I got the boys situated and started dinner - yes, I was planning/cooking ahead of time!! I made a dish of enchiladas for some friends of ours at church that had a baby. Then, I made a dish for us. I put them both in the fridge with the intention of heating them up later in the afternoon.
We ate lunch and I put the boys down for a nap.
Then the storm began! Our power went out. Nice.
It stayed out for the next five hours. Not a big deal right? I mean it was still daylight so I just opened the blinds/curtains for light to come in. I had dripping (yes, dripping) water but it was enough that I was able to make bottles for Carson. All was good...EXCEPT...I hadn't had a shower since Zumba that morning and a dripping shower would NOT DO!!!
So, I ended up showering at the YMCA. Oh, and the enchiladas I fixed earlier...the husband met me at the Y and took them so that his family could have dinner. I wasn't able to cook them but I gave them directions and hopefully they enjoyed them!
Ok, back to the shower...I wore sandals. I kept everything I owned off the floor. I just held my breath and didn't think about all the nasty germs. Reality - it wasn't that bad. In fact, I told Nathan he could easily work out before work and get a good shower. He laughed. But really. It wasn't that bad.
We picked up dinner on the way home.
We were home for an hour when our power came back on...all it took was me calling my Mama and whining! =) Seriously. I was whining to her and it came back on. Mamas can fix EVERYTHING!!! =)
As soon as the power came back on, I jumped up, gave the boys a bath and finished the cleaning that I had started before the power went off. Brandon is such a good little helper. He helped me clean our bathroom mirror..."Mama clean"

So, today was a very interesting day but as I type this the boys are sleeping and Nathan is on the couch watching the NCAA Championship game...everything is back to normal.

The More the Merrier
"The more the merrier"...that's what Tiffany said when I called to see if our friend, Allison, could come with us on Saturday. Allison had been with at our house that afternoon as we had attempted to help her with Algebra homework. I made good grades in Algebra (Geometry is a different story) but some of it was very frustrating. Well, I revisited those frustrations when trying to figure out her assingment.
At 4:00 we were heading to Tiffany's so we told Allison we would just take her home on the way. We were about 3 minutes from her house and I said, "Hey you wanna go with us?" I am glad she agreed to hang out with us old folks! =) We had a great time and Sunniee and Graciee LOVED her!
Thank you, Tommy! Dinner was YUMMY!
The boys were ready to eat!!
Graciee brushing Allison's hair
Graciee gave Allison her new "do" =)
Their relationship
This picture makes me laugh!!!!
Tiffany and Tommy
Tommy grilled out. We watched basketball. I got a haircut. We had a great time!!!
Allison, hopefully you don't think my family is TOO crazy! =) Glad you went with us!

the DiPasquales
This past Friday night we hung out with our friends, Brad and Kristen. Nathan and Brad went to dinner (bbq, of course) so Kristen and their girls came over to play. Kristen and I were able to talk and hang out while kiddos played and babies slept. As always, it was a great time!!
Brandon thinks Maci is the funniest thing ever. Seriously.
Brandon and Malli - he LOVES babies!

This is a blurry picture but all you need to see is Brandon's face. It looks like he is crying but he is definitely laughing at Maci! =)
We are so blessed to have made such sweet friends!!

8 Months
Carson is 8 months old today!
He is taking a bottle 5 times a day, eating baby food, and snacking on puffs! He LOVES to eat!
He will be crawling any day now. He is definitely mobile as he army crawls across the floor.
He says, "da" when he sees a ball.
He has always been a great sleeper which I am SO thankful for! He sleeps 10-11 hours at night (goes to bed around 8:30 and wakes up around 6:30 or 7:00). He naps for 2 hours during the day and still cat naps.
He started sitting up when he was 6 months old so it's old news now. So old that he hates his car seat...well, he doesn't hate the seat but he doesn't like to be in it if we aren't in the car.
- He thinks Brandon is the coolest thing ever!!! He watches him play all the time. They are going to have so much fun together.
- He loves books. I usually read to Brandon in the afternoons. It used to be that Carson would sit beside me and play with the books as I finished reading them to Brandon. Well, now he wants in my lap so he can read with us. So sweet.
- He is so ticklish! I love it!
We love you, Carson!!!!

Hit & Run
Today was Nathan's first softball game. He had a double-header so I took the boys for the first game. When we got to the field Nathan was up to bat. I pointed him out to Brandon and explained what he was doing. I heard this for the rest of the night, "Daddy hit. Daddy run run run." He was proud of his Daddy!
He played ball with some of the other kids at the park
Allison was there to cheer on her Daddy...Brandon and Carson love "Alli"
